This January, the Pacific Northwest was spoiled with uncharacteristically good weather. Abby and Alex took advantage of the amazing weekends by having their engagement photos taken in the Columbia River Gorge. As your Vancouver, WA photographer, I love getting out into the cold to capture some of the rare winter golden hours. This location is only about 45 minutes from Vancouver, making it an easy location to get to. If you’re looking for engagement photos near Vancouver, WA, reach out here! This blog post will also give you some pose ideas for your next couples session.

These two had so much fun with their engagement session despite how chilly it was. Some of these photos may appear deceivingly warm and golden, but the wind in the Gorge can be COLD and so much different than the nearby Vancouver, WA. I recommend packing a big coat to wear between shots at locations like this that involve some walking. We started out in the Beacon Rock State Park area, where we accessed a dock to get some shots on the water. From there, we headed out to Hamilton Island for the tall, grassy field look, and boy were we treated with an amazing golden hour.
