Cora + Kyle’s Spring Wedding
The Columbia Gorge Hotel is a classic, stunning venue located in Hood River, Oregon with views of the Columbia River Gorge. Being in Oregon, we always need to have a plan B for rain, and this wedding venue in the gorge has just that. C & K had their wedding in April, and in true Oregon fashion, it was pretty rainy. We were able to take all of their portraits outside while the mist was light, but we also carried a bubble umbrella in tote.
On the back side of the hotel, you’ll find the view that everyone wants for their wedding backdrop. They held their ceremony on the lawn overlooking the river and provided guests with ponchos to keep them dry and they made for some fun and memorable guest photos. After the ceremony, everyone was able to head inside to the ballroom for cocktail hour to mingle and wait for the couple.
This was still one of the most fun weddings I’ve shot to date– they had such a great party all night long to celebrate their marriage. And another perk of having your wedding at a hotel is you already have a place for you and your guests to stay and you can continue the celebrations all weekend long.
Summer Weddings
In the warmer and dryer months, the Columbia River Gorge also has a lawn space to hold wedding receptions that can be decorated with string lights and you can enjoy the view all night long. It is definitely on my bucket list to go back again and experience an outdoor wedding! I’d love to chat about your vision for your future wedding here.
