Maddie and Tanner tied the knot during their intimate Black Butte Ranch wedding in Central Oregon. These two are high school sweethearts, and Maddie just so happens to also be my best friend who I’m so thankful to have captured these photos for!! They only had 10 guests for their micro-wedding, including parents, siblings, and best friends. This wedding in Sisters was one to remember and it was the most perfect day on a Monday in October. Black Butte Ranch is just outside of Sisters, Oregon and approximately 45 minutes from Bend. The lodge was recently renovated is now super modern with a bridal suite and several areas to spend time and take photos. I always love Central Oregon as a wedding destination because your guests, whether local or traveling in, will have so much to do.
The Black Butte Ranch lodge has a gorgeous modern look, especially in the entry where I found the perfect spot to hang Maddie’s Alyssa Kristin wedding gown that she found at Bespoke Bride in Bend. The flowers were put together by Woodland Floral out of Sisters and the pops of blue hydrangeas were amazing with the rest of the decor.
After getting ready in the Black Butte Ranch wedding lodge, Tanner waited on the lawn to see his bride. I love this shot of the moms and bridesmaids inside, watching eagerly through the window. I also love how perfectly the light comes through the aspen trees for some portraits ahead of their intimate wedding ceremony. Aside from the outdoor area, the lodge also has beautiful indoor lighting at the stairs, which contrasts with the white wedding dress amazingly.
Black Butte Ranch Wedding Ceremony + Reception
8 chairs were set out in front of the lake with the grounded floral installations for the intimate ceremony. Maddie and Tanner had a short and sweet ceremony before heading off to the lodge balcony to sign the papers and get to celebrating. I also have to shout out Wendy Duncan Ministries as an amazing central Oregon officiant! If you have a close-knit circle of people you want to share your wedding day with, I highly recommend going this route. After the ceremony, the 12 of us enjoyed wine and dinner in private on the back deck, with perfect October weather. The table decor was all white, accented by the greens and blues of the floral pieces on each end and the bride’s bouquet in the center. AK Events Co coordinated this wedding and made Maddie’s vision come alive!
The couple and the vendors snuck away from the cocktail hour to take photos during sunset with the horses. The smokey skies started to roll in just as the ceremony began, and by sunset the sky was a fiery orange, casting warm light onto the bride and groom. We all had fun petting the horses and twirling through the grass field. After the photos were finished, we spent hours into the night enjoying each other’s company under the stars. Bride, groom, and wedding party all shared a rental house so that we could continue to enjoy our weekend together.
