Dreamy Summer Engagement Photos on the Oregon Coast

Couples

Annie & Sean’s engagement photos on the Oregon coast were absolutely a highlight of the year for me! The weather could not have been more perfect in such an unpredictable place, with rays of sun beaming through the trees atop the coastal cliffs. Those rays made the most magical lighting all throughout our session, from down on the sand to up in the grassy hills. This, along with other spots on the coast, is my favorite place to shoot and I’d be honored to work with you if your vision aligns with my style! To chat, please reach out here.

This location in particular is one of my favorites because it features the cliff, open ocean, sea grass, and a view of Haystack Rock in the distance. Book a session to find out the exact location near Cannon Beach!

Outfits for Engagement Photos on the Oregon Coast

For most sessions, I always recommend light, neutral, and earthy toned colors that will complement the landscape and not detract from you and your partner in the photos. I lean heavily into the Pacific Northwest feel in my photos, so blues and greens are always options I sway towards. Here’s a link to a Pinterest board with outfit inspo. These two went a very classic route for their engagement session.

I also encourage you to bring a change of outfits for your shoot to give you more variety in your gallery, but also just in case you’re indecisive and want all the options. Usually, couples will opt for a more formal and a more casual look. In this case, Annie started out in the flowy, strapless white dress that felt like it was made for the occasion, and Sean matched in a white short-sleeved and collared button up shirt with khaki pants. I think a flowy dress always looks good for the ladies because it adds movement to the photos and can be used as a prop for your hands in some cases. For the second outfit, they matched in white T-shirts and blue jeans. In both sets, they ran through the sand barefoot, giving an effortless and playful look to their engagement photos on the Oregon coast.
