Brandy and Jerytt envisioned a modern, rustic barn wedding in the countryside of Oregon. Brandy loves to ride horses and it was important to her to tie that in by having their reception in a barn. They found the perfect venue to fit their needs with the Perryhill Event Barn in Dallas, Oregon.
And the sun sure was out for this late August day. The space was decorated with sage, eucalyptus, and gold decor to compliment the lush garden and stand out against the bold, red barn. For their tablescape, some of the pieces were rented from Power of Love Rentals. This is a great way to reduce waste from your wedding. Renting items can be more cost effective and save you the hassle of having to store and organize all of the pieces before and after the big day. One of the bride’s favorite parts of this was having unique dinnerware and glass pieces.
Getting Ready
The bride’s side got ready together in the bridal suite on-site. As is a theme with many of my blog posts, I always love this feature in a venue. As Brandy finished prepping her bridal look, Jerytt was in the reception barn preparing with his groomsmen.
It’s always so special to get to know the wedding party throughout the day, in addition to the couple getting married. I’ve had many instances of bridesmaids and groomsmen staying in touch on social media and later having the chance to work together again. One of my favorite parts of the job!
Aside from that, I just need to showcase how STUNNING Brandy looked for her wedding day. Her hair was mostly down and curled, but had some pieces braided to add a special touch. And don’t even get me started on the dress- something so classic about a sleek, simple, yet statement-making dress. Her ball gown was jaw dropping. And lastly with these shots, the bouquet included lots of white and green with eucalyptus, complimenting the colors of the day. I love the contrast of the modern bridal look with a rustic barn wedding.
Rustic Wedding Ceremony
As we headed into the processional, the guests were seated and the ceremony began. The song that played as Brandy walked down the aisle was an instrumental of Taylor Swift’s Wildest Dreams. The two did not have a first look, so this was the first moment Jerytt could see her. These are some of my favorite reactions to capture.
They stood in front of their double triangular backdrop and exchanged vows. This garden was a beautiful setting to proclaim their love for one another. For me, the garden felt whimsical and luxurious.
Depending on the style of video you like, this could be a fun option; one of the bridesmaids brought a camcorder to create a home-video style wedding film. She filmed so many moments throughout the day and even interviewed friends and family. In lieu of a professional videographer, I think this is a great way to go to create an even more authentic representation of your wedding day. Having a close friend film the day can make for some funny moments that might not have happened in front of a hired video team.
Our first round of portraits happened right after the family and wedding party photos, during cocktail hour. We used the garden, the barn, and the orchard for a variety of backdrops. One of my favorites is a signature that I see at Perryhill Events often, which is the couple in the barn window taken from outside.
It wasn’t long before the summer heat was hitting everyone and Brandy was ready to move on to her second look. This was such a fun, flirty, and youthful dress that signaled it was time to start the party. There were tulle and embellishments, all of which fit her vision so well. As the sun began to set, we had another round of photos with this look, including their puppy Penelope. The fairytale vibes continued as the three of them ran through the orchard with joy.
It was a smoky wedding day, but I think that only helped the sunset in these photos.
In the midst of the photos, the events of the reception commenced with dinner, cake cutting, dancing, and a surprise-grand-exit gift of a neon sign attached to their getaway car. I loved how these turned out with the glow of their new last name as the night came to a close. Brandy shared that everything went exceptionally well, all of their friends and family made them feel so loved and supported. And that’s a wrap on this rustic barn wedding in Oregon!
