Sage & Social | Modern Farmhouse Wedding Venue

Weddings

Sage & Social is a new, modern wedding venue in Mulino, Oregon. Their indoor reception farmhouse will leave you speechless, and is the perfect canvas for your wedding decor dreams. There is stark white and dark contrast throughout the venue, from the indoor walls, to the outside dark wood barn doors, and the tiled ceremony pavilion. Love was in full bloom spring romance styled shoot at Sage & Social. This stunning venue offered the perfect modern-meets-organic backdrop for our celebration of all things romantic and floral. Designed to feel like a walk through a blooming garden, every detail was infused with soft pinks, lush textures, and over-the-top florals that made the space feel completely enchanted.

Hosted by myself (Kendi Photos) and Arianna of AK Events Co, this March wedding shoot is one of my favorites to look back on. We went for extravagant florals to bring pops of color into the venue. Flowers by Alana did an incredible job bringing the idea to fruition, even investing in acrylic pedestals for the ceremony flowers (which are now available for rent when you work with her)!

Life in Letters created stunning stationary for us, including a full invitation suite and reception details. Just look at everything in the tablescape and flat lay setup! Speaking of modern features for your wedding, Roaming Social joined us as a content creator to capture behind the scenes of this day on her iPhone. This is definitely something to consider adding if you want a less formal approach to photo and video, or if you are into social media.

Wedding Ceremony at Sage & Social

Our ceremony couple, Yessy and Kiarash, were decked out with the perfect pink bouquet and over-the-top boutonniere. The cascading boutonniere is a style I hope to see more of! It’s a way for grooms to accessorize further on their wedding day. Against his black suit, the colors popped even more. His wife, Yessy, wore an elegant dress with flowy sleeves, a train, and a slit.

One of my favorite parts of this setup that I didn’t expect was the pink chair provided by Oregon Elevated Events. No pun intended, but I think these portraits of the two of them on the chair are elevated by the variety of poses and height difference this can add. I also loved it for Yessy’s bridal portraits. Hair and makeup was created by Sister Golden Bridal. Sage & Social’s ceremony backdrop is one of my favorites because it is clean, bright, and allows for you to make it your own.

The sun made its appearance towards the end of their ceremony, bathing them in a glow as they celebrated back down the aisle. Of course, we also had to throw in more time for some swooping veil photos (these are always my fave)!

Wedding Reception and Playful Portraits

The second part of our Sage & Social wedding shoot was with our playful couple, Hunter and Gabby. Gabby wore the exact Madi Lane gown that she wore for her own wedding, which was so special to be able to wear again! Hunter wore a tan suit, which was a nice contrast against the almost-black barn exterior. In front of the reception barn, Hunter twirled Gabby around, letting the dress of her train catch the wind.

Next, they strolled through the modern square archways as we headed to take portraits in the wooded area. Even before the spring and summer blooms, this backdrop was beautiful. Her bouquet included lots of peachy hues, tying in our spring wedding theme at Sage & Social. Hunter wore a more traditional boutonniere, though still modern because it was a pocket boutonniere. I love these for real wedding days because it saves so much hassle for the guys trying to figure out how to pin them.

Sip and Social joined us for this shoot with their mobile slushy cart. This is such a fun and cute way to have your bar set up at your venue, including sweet treats that everyone will love. We finished up inside the reception barn at Sage & Social with Hunter and Gabby at the sweetheart table, followed by a cake cutting. Sugar Mama Kitchens provided this wonderful, vibrant cake with 3 layers of different flavors – all delicious!

Sage & Social is a gorgeous venue worth checking out! It’s 45 minutes to an hour outside of Portland, making it pretty easy for guests to get to. This is truly one of the prettiest interiors I’ve seen for a wedding reception space. If you’re getting married at Sage & Social and are looking for your Oregon wedding photographer, let’s chat!
