The Springwater Lakes Estate wedding venue is gorgeous for a summer celebration. The forested backdrop will keep things cool and private among the trees in Clackamas county. Springwater Lakes Estate is a venue with a light wood barn, small ponds (one with a boat you can take photos on!), and lush greenery. I was so excited to capture this wedding, second shooting alongside Hvfitz Photos for the third time at this venue.

We started the day at separate locations, I was with the groom while the lead photographer was with the bride at different houses, only about 25 minutes from the venue. The morning was pretty care-free as it normally is with the groomsmen. I snapped a few photos of them hanging out before it was time to head to the venue. I arrived early before the couple to start taking some detail photos of the decorations carefully selected by the bride. She is a teacher, and for each table number, a student wrote their marriage advice on the table card. It was so special to capture the wedding day for these two, who had known each other for a very long time. They displayed a class photo from early elementary school where they were in the same class together.

Progressing through the day, they had their first look in front of the barn doors and read private vows to one another. I always find this to be the most special thing to witness at weddings, when the couple wants a private moment without guests watching. From there, we went through couples photos, wedding party, and family, before setting up for the ceremony. I happened to be renting a new lens this day, a 135mm, and it was AMAZING for the ceremony. Look how dreamy it makes the background while being able to stand so far back!

After the ceremony, we took advantage of the sun going down a bit for more portraits, including golden hour later in the evening. I am absolutely obsessed with the bride’s dress and bouquet, which felt perfect for this mid-July wedding. The night was full of dancing and fun to celebrate a day of love together.
