Summer Engagement Photos | Portland, OR Photographer

Couples

This summer engagement photo shoot took place just outside of Portland, on Sauvie Island, Oregon. This is a super easy spot to get to from NW Portland, following the Willamette River north. As a Portland, Oregon wedding photographer, I’m always looking for new spots to shoot to provide as many options to my clients as possible. This was my first time here, and we had the whole place to ourselves! It was a warm June evening and we were treated with an amazing golden hour towards the end of our session.

I love the cute, summery, casual outfits that Baylee and David chose for their Portland summer engagement photos. She chose a white midi sun dress and he wore a neutral striped button-up shirt with jeans. For engagement sessions, white is always a classic option to embrace the bridal era. I always recommend the option to wear two different outfits for engagement or couples photos, just to give you more variety in your gallery. The location on Sauvie Island has several cute spots for photos, including the white historical building, the orchard in the back, a forested area, and a tall grass field near the road. You can also see the bridge to Sauvie Island from the entrance, and that could also be a great backdrop at sunrise or on an overcast day. The skies were clear this day and we had beautiful light coming in through the trees. To me, this is such a classic summer engagement photo session. The backdrop and the outfits are exactly what I picture for this time in your life.
