Monique and River’s Maple Leaf Events wedding was nothing short of a Pacific Northwest masterpiece! With their wedding venue tucked in the hills of the Columbia River Gorge and their forest green reception decor, it was the perfect representation of the day. There was cloudy, even lighting throughout the day, prompted by some unexpected rain for this August wedding day. The overcast sky cast a soft, diffused light over the venue, giving the day a quintessential Pacific Northwest ambiance—cool, moody, and undeniably romantic. The groom wore a deep blue suit, a perfect contrast to the soft pink satin dresses worn by the bridesmaids. The bride carried a bouquet of wildflowers and ferns, tying the woodland theme together. The lower lawn (typically used as the Maple Leaf Events wedding ceremony lawn) was a great spot for the wedding party and family photos, with different backdrops at each angle from the stone retaining wall to evergreen trees.

River and Monique chose a unique PNW theme that I loved! Their wedding was all about the new adventure they were about to start as a married couple. From the green decor, the woodsy-theme, to the national park-inspired welcome sign, they thought of everything. Another popular detail from weddings in the last few years is the newspaper. It features photos of the couple, information about guests who traveled from afar, the schedule of events, and activities like a crossword puzzle as entertainment for all.

These two were one of the sweetest couples ever and their first look was so joyful and emotional as they read private vows in the garden area. Due to the imminent rain, the ceremony was held inside as guests found their seats at their reception tables. While the setup wasn’t the traditional rows of chairs with an aisle in the middle, an aisle was made for Monique and her father to walk in together. She met her soon-to-be husband in front of the windows, allowing light to pour in over everyone. Maple Leaf Events is a great indoor wedding venue option in Oregon with its versatility.
