Timberline Lodge hosts Mt Hood weddings with incredible views of the mountain itself and the forest surrounding. If the mountain holds a special place in your heart, or you’re just looking for somewhere beautiful, you should consider a Mt Hood wedding. Jess and Ed planned their wedding from out of town and chose Timberline Lodge because of the beautiful location. Neither of them had any ties to Oregon or Mt. Hood, but invited their closest friends and family to celebrate a destination wedding here. Luckily for them, they had some local experts on their vendor team, including myself and Lexi from Wild Fern.
Wild Fern offers full-service planning, which is exactly what this couple needed to plan an out of state wedding. Lexi brought the dream team together to execute an incredible ceremony and party for their group. The bridal bouquet and ceremony florals were some of my favorite ever, created by Wildflowers & Whimsy. I have been loving the trend of having lots of different colors in the flowers and it brought a romantic and fun feel to the patio for their ceremony.
This couple was also able to bring their dog along for the festivities, and she was there for all of the moments including getting ready in the lodge hotel room, first look, and ceremony.
Photography was not the main focus of this wedding; I always preach that your wedding should not be an all-day photo shoot, but Jess and Ed really wanted to keep the posing at a minimum. We took couples portraits for about 15 minutes, using the stone architecture of the lodge, the ceremony space, then a short walk up the path for mountain views. Other than the family portraits, most of the day was kept documentary-style to capture the couple and all the guests enjoying themselves.
Although this wedding was in June and the weather was nice in the city, it gets quite a bit colder at this elevation. The reception opened indoors and guests took their seats for the evening festivities to begin. There were heartfelt toasts and guests singing songs before the dance floor opened and the “rave” themed party began. Props are always fun for guests to wear on the dance floor and gets people to laugh and enjoy themselves more.
Overall, Timberline Lodge is a gorgeous venue for your Mt Hood wedding. It’s always convenient when the location of the wedding is also a place you can stay the night, especially when you want to let loose and party into the night. There are even more beautiful spots to take couples portraits at Timberline Lodge on your wedding day, and I would love to come back for a future wedding here!
